This Friday, Saturday, and Sunday make up the annual New Mexico tax free weekend. We want to make back to school shopping as easy and affordable as possible. The government’s rules are simple: all shoes, apparel, and socks under $100 each are tax free. On top of that, we’re going to be discounting things even more.
All sale shoes that were originally priced at $114.99 and under will be a flat $65 and tax free. That’s more than 40% off!
All sale shoes between $119.99 and $150 will be $90 and tax free.
All regular priced shoes that range between $104.99 and $114.99 will be dropped to $99.99 so you save sales tax and more!
On all shoes over $115, we’ll pay your sales tax!
We’ll also pay your sales tax on all non-eligible items, such as GPS running watches, hydration packs, and anything else in the store.
Thank you for joining us this morning! If you have any comments or feedback about the event, please let us know. We hope you had a great time!
Thank you to all for your support with the Boston Marathon relief run. We are absolutely overwhelmed with the response and can’t wait to see everyone out here tomorrow. For every 2.62 mile lap you run between 6 and 7:30, we will donate $5 to the Boston Marathon relief efforts, up to $1000. We will be collecting donations, as well.
We have chosen two different charities. The first is the Challenged Athletes Foundation (CAF). They have created a specific fund for Boston victims. The CAF helps amputees return to competitive racing, be in in running, triathlon, or other sports.
The second charity is The One Fund Boston. It was created specifically to help the victims affected by the bombing.
Here are a couple of things to keep in mind:
Registration will open at 5 p.m. at ABQ Running Shop. Our address is 6550 Holly Ave NE, Suite D-2. There is absolutely no cost to join and run with us. If you can’t make it until after the run starts, that is fine!
If you can’t run, we could use 8-10 volunteers for checking people in, handing out water, and to be course monitors. Please e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org if you can help.
All runners and walkers must check in to ABQ Running Shop, sign the waiver, and get a bib number. We will mark off your number for each lap completed.
The course is NOT closed to traffic and we ask everyone to stay on the sidewalks. Please obey all traffic lights and street signs and WATCH OUT FOR CARS! Please be courteous to your fellow walkers and runners.
Although we are normally very dog friendly, we ask that you keep your pups at home tonight. We’re expecting a huge crowd and don’t want anyone to be tangled up in leashes.
We will have a water stop out on the course. Gatorade will be available at the water stop as well as inside ABQ Running Shop. Please don’t litter!
We’d like to thank Angie Kandalaft of Chasing 3 Race Productions, as well. She is helping to provide many of the materials, bib numbers, and supplies.
We’re very excited to announce that the store has moved and found a new home. Please find us at 6550 Holly Ave NE, Suite D-2.
From Paseo del Norte/I-25, head east. Make the first left onto San Pedro and then the first right on Holly. We will be on the right side about .25 miles down, inside Holly Plaza.
We’ve now received our track spikes for the season. Run faster and qualify for state! Spike brands include Nike, Brooks, Saucony, and Asics. Remember, all track and field team members receive 15% off on all non-sale product, including spikes and training shoes.
We’re looking for lots of our friends to be a running or walking ambassador for our shop. Whether you run a 15 min 5k or a 6 hour marathon, everyone is welcome to join. It’s simple, and the only thing you need is one of our ABQ Running Shop tech shirts. Don’t have one? The short sleeve shirts are $10 and the long sleeve are $15.
Now, go off and run! For every race you attend (or one you volunteer at) with our shirt on, you’ll get a credit. Based on the number of credits you have, you’ll get the following discount:
1 credit: 10% off
3 credits: 15% off
6+ credits: 20% off
When you complete a race or volunteer at a race, send the information to email@example.com.
We will have special group purchases for items throughout the year, saving you extra money on the gear you purchase most. You’ll also get special discounts to ABQ Running Shop sponsored and directed events.
As another part of this, we would ask everyone to volunteer once or twice throughout the year at various races and events. Our favorite races wouldn’t happen without the numerous volunteers helping out.
If you want to sign up, send your name and e-mail address to firstname.lastname@example.org
You can also print out the following forms and mail them in to save the Active.com fees.
The Bikila and Bikila LS. These are the road running version of the Five Fingers. The regular Bikila has the velcro straps while the LS version has normal shoe laces.
The TrekSport. This is the perfect Vibram Fiver Finger to use on trails, whether you are running or hiking. They have more tread and an abrasion resistant upper.
The KomodoSport and KomodoSport LS. These are the best cross-training Vibram Five Finger out there. They have a touch of lateral support while still keep you close to the ground. The KomodoSport is the regular velcro version and the LS has laces.
